Winter months at Ardmore

Wednesday December 7th 2011

The mild but stormy weather patterns of the last two weeks have finally given way to calmer but cooler air streams and the first snow at Ardmore fell overnight.

This time last year Loch A Chadh-Fi was frozen over with snow lying on top, a scene more reminiscent of South Georgia than the north-west of Scotland. No ice yet!

There is more snow forecast for today and tomorrow with a return to milder conditions beyond that - enough time for some high octane sledging on the hill beneath the crofts!
