It couldn't have been a much better day to climb Arkle. Cool and cloudy for the ascent and as we approached the first summit the clouds parted and blue sky took over.
From the first summit to the second summit the ridge narrows with some scrambling required over the rocks. Even the younger members of the team managed it and by 12.30pm the cousins were at the second summit together, with amazing views to Ardmore and the Atlantic beyond. That view is something very special.
We came down the coire on the south-west side of the mountain and were back at the bothy in good time, and at the Adventure School in time for a swim before supper.
The 14-day expedition team have returned from their two day expedition across the mountains in high spirits and all are sharing their experiences.
