Ridgway Adventure · Young pepole
Summer camps
Since the first years of the John Ridgway Adventure School, young people aged 12 - 17 have come from all over the world to Ardmore to experience real adventure in this beautiful landscape, to make new friends from different nations and walks of life and to develop and grow as individuals.
This tradition has continued and the sons and daughters of course participants from the early years now come to share the same experiences that their parents did nearly 40 years earlier. They join many other young people who are new to Ardmore and the Adventure School, the first generation of young adventurers!
Getting to us is easy and afordable, with direct flights from Gatwick, Luton, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester and from Europe, Dusseldorf and Amsterdam to Inverness.
14 Day Expedition Summer Camp (ages 14-17)
Based around a series of grand expeditions in the mountains and on the sea, surviving overnight on an island and culminating with a three day expedition to Cape Wrath.
6 Day Adventure Summer Camp (ages 12-17)
Climb a mountain from a wild base camp, sea kayak in a sheltered sea loch teeming with wildlife, learn survival skills, forage for and cook wild foods from the seashore, rock climb and abseil on an ancient rocky outcrop and put all your skills together to survive overnight on an uninhabited island.
“The boys had a fantastic time – they haven't stopped talking about it and love telling everyone what they have been up to. They are already talking about going on one of your adult holidays when they are old enough”
Mrs Bickerstaff, Scotland
