Aberdeen Grammar team arrive in time for a swim

The Aberdeen Grammar team arrived with us at about three o’clock this afternoon. Bags were moved from coach to trailer and driven in along the shore while the pupils split into the four teams that they will operate in this week, and followed the trailer on foot with their team instructors.

A quick intro and tour of the site and then the two red teams, the Red Deer and Red Snappers donned wetsuits and took to the glassy calm water of Loch A Chadh-Fi for a swim, breaking the surface and the silence!

Meanwhile the blue teams, the Blue Moons and Blue Whales, worked with their instructors Emily and Jordan, to unpack, pull together a day pack that will be used for all the adventures and generally settle in, before swapping with the reds and going swimming.

We all sat down together for dinner just after six o’clock. Macaroni cheese and salads followed by freshly baked chocolate brownies. During dinner the heavens opened and we had the first rain here for weeks.

It is forecast to move through overnight to leave us with a good day tomorrow, and then getting breezier over the next few days.

Great to get our season into full swing with a plucky bunch from a Scottish school. More news on Monday evening.
