Every bespoke course is different. Rebecca and Mark will design the course with your input so that it matches your aims and ambitions. All courses make the very most of the incredible land and seacapes around us
We’re just two hours drive from Inverness with direct flights from domestic airports, direct flights from Amsterdam, and direct rail travel from Edinburgh, Glasgow and London.
We can put you in touch with coach and transfer providers that we work with regularly, or you may wish to hire a vehicle in Inverness.
Rebecca can give you detailed travel advice and explore all the options with you.
We serve delicious home cooked food freshly made each day, making use of local and seasonal fare. This might include venison or our locally landed Kinlochbervie haddock.
Cooked breakfasts, packed lunches, afternoon tea and either two or three-course dinners are provided when based at the Adventure School. Overnight expeditions will have tasty and nutritious rations to cook in camp.
Rebecca will provide you with a tailored personal kit list appropriate to the content of your course. We provide you with any specialist equipment needed for sea kayaking, rock climbing and other technical activities. Our comprehensive store of equipment includes a fleet of new high-quality British-made sea kayaks and all wild camping equipment. Argo and Victoria, our two workboats, can operate within 3 nautical miles of Ardmore. We use them regularly for evening sea fishing trips.
We have robust risk assessments and operating procedures in place. These are constantly reviewed, and our staff are suitably trained and qualified to make dynamic decisions in our remote environment. Rebecca, and her parents before her, have been operating an adventure school here for over 50 years without serious incident.
A ‘participation and risk’ statement relevant to your individual summer camp/course is included as part of the booking form and it is important that young people and their parents read and understand this.
Our staff hold professional qualifications administered by Mountain Training UK and British Canoeing as well as undergoing a two week familiarisation and training process with Mark and Rebecca before the start of the season.
We complete background checks on all of our staff through the Disclosure Scotland PVG scheme.
