The Watchers House
John and Marie-Christine built the Watchers House in 1990. Sitting 100 yards from the shore it was home to the salmon farm manager from where he could ‘watch’ over the two fish farm sites.
One farm sat beneath the wood at Ardmore and the other in the lee of Survival Island. The salmon farms that Rebecca’s parents operated alongside the Adventure School have long since gone, and mussels are grown in their place.
The Watchers House was renovated and updated in 2021 and sleeps five people in one double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a single room. The single room has an additional pull-out bed only suitable for a younger child making six beds if necessary.
The ground floor rooms are heated with modern radiators and the bedrooms have electric blankets and portable oil-filled heaters. Our water supply is fed from a nearby hill loch and we provide bottled water for drinking. Enjoy a bath with a view in the family bathroom with an overbath shower.
There is an additional shower room on the first floor.
The large sitting/dining room has fantastic views across the sea loch towards Loch Laxford.
There is a well-equipped kitchen where your meals will be prepared for you and the large porch room has sofas for additional reception space.
