Team Gresham's Prep

Gresham’s team arrive in the far northwest

The Gresham’s team arrived at the road end at about 7.30 pm this evening, full of beans despite their long day travelling. Together we loaded the bags into the trailer and 4×4 and the pupils, in their teams for this week (Red Deer, Red Snappers, Blue Whales and Blue Moons) headed off with their instructors for the short walk across the hillside and along the shore to reach the Adventure School.

Quickly to the dorms to find their beds and drop their bags before supper of macaroni cheese and salads followed by a slice of homemade chocolate brownie.

The first batch of Sunday morning swimmers out before breakfast

After supper we climbed to a high point above the Adventure School to get a 360 degree view of the landscape that we will explore together over the next week. It was pretty windy on the top, with the mountains away to the east partly obscured by cloud, but exciting none the less.

We’ll be up at seven o’clock tomorrow for a full team swim before breakfast and then our plan is to rock climb and abseil, and to look at the fire and food elements of the survival skills that the pupils will need on survival island later in the week. After supper we’ll head out to our mountain base camp before our ascent of Arkle on Monday.

More news to come on our return from the mountain on Monday evening. In the meantime all are well and in great spirits!
