Kings Langley team arrive at the Adventure School

The Kings Langley team arrived with us at the road end just after two o’clock and took the short walk along the vehicle track across the shore to the Adventure School in time for a late lunch of soup and homemade bread.

The rest of the afternoon was given over to familiarising them with the Adventure School, unpacking, checking kit and issuing hire kit, and then the team took to the water for a swim. A few yeps as our wetsuit clad swimmers slipped into the sea in front of the Adventure School, with most then swimming on out to the raft in the loch to jump and splash about.

After supper the KL team, who will be working in two groups for much of the week, took a short walk with their instructors, to a high point above the Adventure School, to give them a good look at all the places we’ll explore together over the coming week.

Tomorrow we will be sea kayaking and learning the fire and food elements of the survival skills needed for the island at the end of the week, and we’ll be camping at the foot of the mountain tomorrow evening before our climb on Monday. More news here on Monday evening after we return from the mountain day. In the meantime, the team are all well and full of excitement and enthusiasm.
