Beach day before the final expedition starts

Beautiful blue sky afternoon

With the last of the sea kayak expeditions now returned to the Adventure School we spent today at the beach. A chance to rest and relax together before the final expedition starts. We have had many days in the last week with heavy overnight rain and low cloud in the mornings, giving way to blue skies and sunshine by lunchtime. Today was another one of those days!

Some people swam, skim boarded and body boarded in the sea while others played beach volleyball and football.

We start on the Cape Wrath expedition tomorrow, wild camping near the stunning Sandwood Bay tomorrow night. River levels, which are high at the moment, will determine whether we can make it to the Cape on foot or not, but either way, it will be great to be out again and whilst rain is forecast during the nights, the days look to be good.

The young people are all in good spirits, and the time seems to be racing by.
