Blue skies and warm seas welcome the 6 day summer camp team

It has been a beautiful day in the far north-west. The high level cloud that has blocked the sun out for the last few days has moved on and it is absolutely glorious.

The second of our two six day summer camps arrived at the adventure school just after 2.30pm this afternoon and after some quick introductions, were straight into the loch for a swim. The team went first to the raft and then out further to Fionns Rock, which sits out in the middle of Loch A Chadh-Fi.

Its a small team but the are raring to go and with the forecast looking generally good but with a stiff breeze, we should get a lot done with them.

Tomorrow we plan to go sea kayaking on Loch A Chadh-Fi and out into the larger Loch Laxford if conditions allow, and to look at the ‘fire and food’ elements of survival skills, vital preparation for ‘survival island’ at the end of the week.

Tomorrow night we’ll head out for the first night under canvas, camping at the foot of Arkle, ready for our summit attempt on Monday.
