Team Twyford Team

Breaking the silence at Ardmore

Hill top sunsets and early morning swims

The Twyford team arrived with us late yesterday afternoon after a slight delay to their flight. Too late, unfortunately, to squeeze the usual swim in before supper but we put that right this morning before breakfast.

After supper last night the four teams (Blue Whales, Blue Moons, Red Arrows and Red Snappers) walked to a high point above the Adventure School to get a 360 degree view of all the places we will explore in this remote and rugged landscape over the course of the next week. Despite the flat calm and drizzle we were treated to a fantastic sunset that photos cannot really do justice too.

Swimming before breakfast this morning

This morning we woke the team at 7am for a run, walk, swim or game of volleyball before breakfast. About half the team took the bolder option donning wetsuits and wetsuit shoes and taking to the sea loch for a swim. Jumps and bombs from the raft. A beautiful morning with fantastic light – perfect swimming but still no warmer than eight or nine degrees.

After breakfast the two Red teams went out along the shore to learn the ‘fire and food’ elements of the survival skills needed for the island later in the week and the Blues did their kit hire and faff and then looked at shelter building. The teams have swapped around this afternoon and we will be heading out to camp at the bottom of the mountain tonight ready for our mountain climb on Monday.

No more news until we return from the mountains on Monday evening but the team are well and on great form, enjoying hot, sunny and windy weather.

We will put a few more photos on our facebook page every now and again.
