Kayak training expedition returns
The team are back now from two days out in sea kayaks. They have been looking at both paddling skills and group management and leadership. The wind has been pretty stiff and we had some great swell out at Sgeir Ruadh on the south side of the mouth of Loch Laxford to add some leadership context in challenging conditions. It is great to get a bit of time in the rough stuff and feel the power behind the ocean before diving back into the safety and comfort of Loch Laxford.

The team bivvied on a beach at the eastern end of the loch. We left stoves behind, cooking supper on an open fire with the addition of a freshly caught pollack.
Tomorrow is a final skills training day before the expedition departs on Tuesday morning, heading out for four days of adventure in the hills and along the coast.
