Sea kayaking, rock climbing and survival island

The perfect day today for the Blue team to head out sea kayaking! With everyone in their own single kayaks and then split into two pods, pupils wove their way out through the islands and into Loch Laxford.  There are plenty of sea birds around at the moment, with arctic terns and kittiwakes arriving in the last few weeks (the latter probably a little off course), joining the usual herring gulls, oystercatchers and greylag geese. There are also loads of jellyfish at the moment, mostly the harmless moon jellyfish.

Whilst the Blues were on the water the Reds were rock climbing and abseiling on the hilltops above the Adventure School and learning the final skills before survival island.

With strong winds forecast during the day and evening on Wednesday, we have moved Survival Island forward a night so that the pupils can enjoy the sunshine, warm breeze and great views from the island tonight.
