Rock climbing and orienteering

The teams head off to the mountain base camp

Today the teams were out on ‘search to survive’, a wilderness orienteering course that tests not only navigation skill but decision making and teamwork, with the pupils operating in small squads of two or three without direct input from instructors or teachers. 

We also rock climbed and abseiled on the ancient rocky outcrop on the hilltop above the Adventure School. With four climbs and an abseil along with some gusty wind, there was plenty of challenge to be had. 

Out to wild camp at the foot of Arkle tonight, with our plan to climb to both summits tomorrow. All are well and on great form.
