Team Hornsby House

Our second team from Hornsby House arrive

With restrictions in place limiting the number of young people we can accommodate, Hornsby House have adapted and overcome by bringing two halves of the Year 6 in consecutive weeks. The first half left us early on Friday morning and arrived back at school in Balham in the afternoon. The second half arrived with us this afternoon in time for the traditional swim in the sea loch.

Children wild swimming

We are operating in three small teams this week. The Reds, Blues and Purples, with their respective instructors Kev, Emma and Lewis. Whilst the Reds sorted their day packs out and the Purples took the short boat journey to their accommodation at Ardmore, the Blues went for a swim, with the teams swapping around later in the afternoon. The Purples swam at Ardmore, using the workboats as a jumping platform.

Everyone was back together again in time for supper. Macaroni cheese and salads followed by chocolate cake. Appropriate fuelled the teams climbed to a high point above the Adventure School where you can get a 360-degree view of all the places that we will explore together in the coming week.

A 7 am start tomorrow for a run or a swim before breakfast. We have a couple of wild and windy days to navigate together on Sunday and Monday. If the enthusiasm for the swim today is carried across everything that we do we’ll have a great week. More news to follow in the coming days.
