Balham team arrive in the rain

No dampened spirits

The Hornsby House team arrived at the road end at about half past six this evening, full of energy and excitement. The rain, which is the first of any significance in the last three weeks, did little to dampen spirits as the teams walked in along the shore to the Adventure School and straight in for dinner.

Macaroni cheese, salads and chocolate brownie went down well, and after dinner, with it still raining, there was little time for more than some kit faff and unpacking.

We’ll head up to a high point above the Adventure School tomorrow morning before breakfast to get a good view out across the ocean to the west, to the mountains in the east and a first glimpse of survival island.

Teams will be out on the water in boats and kayaks, climbing at the crag and learning survival skills on the shore tomorrow and today’s rain is set to move away overnight.
