Team One Week Summer Camp

One Week Summer Camp arrives

Everyone on the One Week Summer Camp has arrived safely at the adventure school. The coach and our instructors arrived at the road end at 5.30 pm. We loaded bags into the 4×4 and trailer and the young people walked with the instructors along the footpath that leads across the hill and along the shore to the school itself.

We have just finished supper, and the teams are out on the hill now, climbing to a high point that overlooks Ardmore and Loch A Chadh-Fi. It gives fantastic 360-degree views of this wild and remote landscape. Home for the week.

We wake at 7.30 am tomorrow with the Blue teams going for a run and the Reds having the option of running or swimming before breakfast.

The Reds will be rock climbing, abseiling on the crags above the adventure school, and learning some of the survival skills needed for the island. The Blues will be sea kayaking and heading out on the workboats to fish, lift lobster pots and see the 1966 Atlantic rowing boat.

We will update the journal with news and photos every couple of days and hopefully add a few photos to our Instagram page later in the week. In the meantime, the boys and girls are all well and in good spirits.
