The team head for survival island

The team returned on Monday from a successful ascent of the eastern summit of Arkle and were straight into the sea loch for a swim. Tuesday was a day of rock climbing and abseiling on the crags high above the Adventure School, and an exercise called ‘search to survive’ (a wilderness orienteering course).

Today the team were building rafts from mussel barrels, wooden spars and ropes and racing them on the sea loch. Then we headed out in the boats to Ardmore, picking up lobster creels as we went. We stopped at Ardmore to see the wooden rowing boat that Rebecca’s father used to cross the Atlantic in 1966 and Rebecca’s own 1992 Cape Horn expedition sea kayak, before heading on to survival island.

The team are on the island now and will return for breakfast tomorrow before we head off to the beach. All are well and on great form.
