Sea kayaking and settling in
It was quite late by the time the coach arrived at the road end and we had loaded bags into the pickup. Mist was hanging low, almost to sea level but the heavy rain that we had driven through earlier had eased to steady drizzle. A super high tide gave us a more involved walk in to the Adventure School than normal. Hot chocolate and birthday cake welcomed the team. There was just enough time for some unpacking and a quick tour in the half light before it was time for bed.
We started today with shuttle runs along the vehicle track to get the blood flowing before breakfast. We’d usually have a swim option but with plans to sea kayak today we thought we would keep wetsuits dry for that. The Reds went sea kayaking first, while the Blues sorted out their day packs with their instructor and climbed to a high point above the Adventure School. From here they had a 360 degree view of all the places that we will explore together over the week. You could see the Red team weaving from bay to bay in Loch A Chadh-Fi as they paddled towards survival island looking for seals.
The teams swapped over this afternoon and this evening we make the final preparations for our mountain day on Ben Stack tomorrow. The team are well and in good spirits.
