Team Highfield School

Sea kayaking, rock climbing

and lobster creeling

A brighter day today with some good spells of sunshine in the afternoon. Today the Red teams were rock climbing and abseiling on the crags high above the Adventure School, the Blues were sea kayaking out on the calm waters of Loch A Chadh-Fi and all teams went out to pull up their lobster creels and see John Ridgway’s 1966 Atlantic rowing boat.

Tomorrow we have a four stage event before breakfast, involving running, walking, swimming and blindfolded sea kayaking. Reds and Blues will compete against each other in the raft build and race, and also out on ‘Search to Survive’, a wilderness orienteering course where the pupils work independently in small squads of three or four.

After a high tea the teams will head out to survival island!!

The pupils are on great form and if their positive and enthusiastic approach so far is carried through to tonight they should have an amazing experience on the island.
