Expedition summer camp teams head into the mountains
We woke at 7:30 am this morning for a run or a swim. The older Red teams went for a swim and the younger Blue teams went running on this occasion. Our four teams then spent the morning prepping their expedition kit and packing rucksacks with their instructors.

After a hot lunch at the adventure school, the teams saddled up for the short vehicle shuttle to Achfary and were then off into the mountains. The aim is to take some of the height gain out of the main mountain traverse tomorrow. They’ll be wild camping at about 450m above sea level on the sides of Foinaven and Arkle. The Red 1, 2 and Blue 1 teams will be tackling the Foinaven ridge and the Blue 2 team will make a full traverse of Arkle.
