York House arrive in the far north-west
The team arrived with us shortly after midday today having stopped for brunch in Ullapool on the way north. This is our first team of the season, arriving a couple of weeks before the core of our summer season gets underway. There was just enough time before lunch to test out the swimming pool. A balmy 8 or so degrees but with a bit of warm spring sunshine and some wetsuits it was perfectly achievable.
Everyone went in, and a small hardcore of four made it all the way to the raft for the first leaps and jumps of 2016.

After a light lunch of homemade leek and tattie soup, bread rolls, cheese and salad, and a rock bun the team, split into a Red and a Blue team set about their usual first day kit faff; organising and checking kit and learning to pitch the tents that we will use tomorrow night.
After supper we all headed up to a high point on the hills above the Adventure School to have a good look around, the Atlantic away to our west, Arkle and the other mountains to the east and Cape Wrath to the north.
It will be a busy week. We plan to rock climb and abseil and look at survival skills tomorrow after a 7am run to get the blood flowing.
We will be camping tomorrow night so more news again after supper on Thursday evening.
