Team York House School

York House Year 6 arrive at the adventure school

The York House team arrived just after 2:30 p.m., and we’ve been busy busy since then. We walked down to the adventure school with the team instructors, Patrick, Kerry, Evan, and Toby. The Red teams went for a quick swim in the sea loch while the Blues checked and packed their day packs.

After supper, we walked to a high point above the adventure school to get a 360-degree view of all the places we will explore together over the coming week. It is certainly cooler here than it has been back down in Hertfordshire, but the boys and girls are well equipped, and the weather forecast is pretty settled, with warmer weather on the way.

A mix of rock climbing, abseiling and shelter building for the Reds tomorrow, while the Blues head onto the water in the workboats to lift lobster creels and see Dad’s 1966 Atlantic Rowing boat.

We’ll be camping in the evening at the foot of the mountains beside the beautiful stone cottage at Lone before our ascent of Ben Stack on Monday. Mark will probably post the next journal update on our return from the mountains on Monday evening.

Everyone is well and jolly, looking forward to the adventures ahead.
