The summer camp team arrives at the Adventure School

A beautiful sunny afternoon for the arrival of this year’s Six Day Summer Camp.

The coach reached the road end just after five o’clock and the boys and girls jumped off, loaded bags from the coach onto the 4×4, met the rest of the instructors and then set off together on the 15 minute walk across the hills and along the shore to the Adventure School.

There was time for a quick tour and unpacking before we sat down together for macaroni cheese and salads followed by some homemade cake.

After supper the older ‘Red’ teams walked up to a high point above the Adventure School, while the younger ‘Blue’ teams prepared their day packs ready for tomorrow. With day packs ready they too set off up the hill. It is a beautiful vantage point, great views across to the mountains, over to Ardmore, and to the Atlantic beyond.

It looks at the moment as though we will get a band of bad weather coming through on Monday so we plan to head to the mountains tomorrow for summit attempts on Arkle.
