Team York House School

Summit success for all

Great team effort on Arkle

We were blessed with glorious weather for our ascent of Arkle today! The Blues and Reds picked their own routes up the open south-east slopes to the first summit in time for lunch, and then tackled the crescent-shaped ridge, with a bit of scrambling, around to the second summit.

The Blue team on the first of Arkle’s two summits

With the hot weather we didn’t break any speed records but there was a great air of positivity amongst the teams, despite weary legs on the descent.

The forecast looks good into tomorrow too when the teams will be rock climbing and abseiling, and competing in ‘search to survive’, a wilderness orienteering course, and a vital step in towards self reliance, before they head to ‘Survival Island’ tomorrow night.

A great team of boys here, a credit to their school.
