An update from the Red teams

Creels, 1966 Atlantic Rowing Boat, sea kayaking and more

Another blue sky day and the colour teams out in different locations so we have two news page reports this evening.

It was a little quieter overnight at the Adventure School with the Blues out at the wild camp. This morning was the first opportunity for a Red swim before breakfast and all but a handful took to the water.

All three teams were out today checking their lobster creels, sizing, counting and scoring their catch, and stopping off at Ardmore to see John Ridgway’s 1966 Atlantic rowing boat and Rebecca’s 1992 Cape Horn sea kayak, and hearing the stories of those two epic adventures.

We’ve also had some of the Red teams out sea kayaking and another doing the shelter building element of their survival skills.

The Reds are all out at the old stone stables at Lone, the wild camp that we use for forays into the mountains. When we dropped them off there was the making of a beautiful sunset between the Arkle and Ben Stack. The latter is the Red objective tomorrow.
