Beautiful wild camp and Ben Stack summit success

We had a magical night wild camping by the old stone building at Lone, which lies at the foot of Arkle and Ben Stack. For years, it has formed the basecamp for mountain ascents at Ridgway Adventure. Ben Stack was our target on Monday. The forecast was for deteriorating weather, so there was an impetus to get cracking. Teams made good progress with the first reaching the summit just after midday as moody skies developed over the neighbouring mountains. Stunning views in all directions.

We will endeavour to post again on the journal late on Wednesday when the children are on the island. In the meantime, all is well. Lots going on, from rock climbing and sea kayaking to lifting lobster creels and survival skills.
