Team Hornsby House

Hornsby House whirlwind arrive

Forecast looks great and spirits are high

The whirlwind arrived shortly after three o’clock this afternoon. We have split the year into three Red teams and three Blue teams and they walked across the hills and along the shore to the Adventure School in their new teams with their instructors.

Kit faff was the name of the game this afternoon, checking the kit that the kids have come with and filling any gaps so that we are ready for the week.

After macaroni cheese and salads, and chocolate cake for supper, the teams set off up to a high point above the School where they could get a 360-degree view. Out across the mighty Atlantic to the west, up towards Cape Wrath to the north and east to the mountains and Ben Stack, that the teams will climb on Monday and Tuesday.

Tomorrow is an action packed day with teams out sea kayaking, climbing and learning survival skills for the island later in the week. The Blues will head out to camp tomorrow night at the foot of Ben Stack in preparation for their summit bid on Monday.

The pupils are all well after their travels and we should have a good team swimming before breakfast tomorrow while others go for a run.
