Traverse of the Foinaven Ridge

Teams return in high spirits after a challenging few days in the mountains

Over the last few days, the pupils have completed a two-day mountain expedition over the Foinaven Ridge. Two nights under canvas on the mountainside, 25km of hiking and scrambling on wild and un-tracked ground and over 1,100m of height gained along the way, the pupils have had a challenging mountain expedition, in the cloud for much of the way along the crest of the ridge, and dealing with damp conditions at Camp 2, but have risen to it in great style.

The team had a hearty lunch on their return to the Adventure School yesterday before competing in their teams in a raft build and raft races on the sea loch with a good deal of piracy, spending as much time in the water as on the rafts.
