Beautiful Ben Stack
The York House Year 6 are back at the adventure school tonight after a night and day of high endeavours in the mountains. We established our wild base camp at the foot of Ben Stack late yesterday afternoon, setting tents in their four teams and cooking supper over Trangia stoves.

After a night under canvas and a hearty breakfast at the old stone cottage at Lone, we set off for Ben Stack. The mountain day is set up to challenge the boys and girls. We had glorious weather with blue skies and sunshine but there is still a chill in the shade and on the breeze.

All four teams reached the summit for a late lunch, with far-reaching views in all directions. When we got back to the adventure school just after 4 p.m., nearly half of the year group opted to swim, leaping off the raft in Loch A Chadh-Fi and playing games.
