Team Kingshott School

Sunny day for summiteers

All teams climb Ben Stack

It hardly gets dark up here at this time of year and the teams woke early in their tents this at Lone this morning. We set up a field kitchen at the old stone stables so that the kids can fuel up with a hot breakfast. As it was the real heat came from the sun today. Sometimes a bit of wind and rain focuses the mind and the teams charge up the mountain, but the hot sun makes for slow and steady progress.

Swimming in Loch A Chadh-Fi

The four teams picked their way up the mountainside, hopping from tussock to rock, to tussock, with the occasional bog. No paths to speak of here! It was a good three and a half hours to the top, a big ask from little legs!! The challenge and hard work was well rewarded with fantastic views out across The Minch to the Outer Hebrides over 70km away.

We were back at the Adventure School by about 4pm for a swim in the sea loch and some time to relax before supper. Some sleepy heads tonight and rosy cheeks, but all are well.
